BRA SIZE
This Is Only A Guide To Bra Sizes As All Syles Can Differ
It is estimated that about 80 per cent of women are wearing the wrong bra size, and many of us never get properly measured.
Also, we don't stay the same size forever, yet we keep buying the same size bra for years regardless of our weight or shape changing.
UNDER-WIRING
The under-wiring must not press into the side of the bust itself, as this can cause discomfort. (Many women who don't like underwired bras have simply had bad experiences because they've worn bras where the cup size is too small).
THE BRIDGE
The middle part of the bra, that joins the two cups at the front, should sit flat. If it protrudes from the cleavage, the cup size is too small.
THE BACK
If the back rides up then the back size is too large.
When you buy a bra with a larger back size the cup size will increase too so if you go from a 36C to a 38C the cup may need to go down to a B
MEASURING
Hold the tape measure tight around your ribcage just under your bust and level across your back. If the number is even, add 4 inches, if odd add 5 inches. This is your bra size.
To find your cup size, gently measure around the fullest part of the bust, making sure the tape is level across the back. The difference between your bra size and your full bust measurement is your cup size.
Same as bra size = A cup.
1 inch more = B cup.
2 inches more = C cup.
3 inches more = D cup.
4 inches more = DD cup.
5 inches more = E cup.
6 inches more = F cup.
7 inches more = G cup.
8 inches more = H cup.
9 inches more = J cup.
10 inches more = K cup.
For example, if your under bust measurement is 31 inches, plus five inches = 36 bra size. If your over bust measurement is 38 inches (i.e. a 2 inch difference) you're a C cup. Your correct bra size is 36C.
